St Hildas College, Oxford / Gort Scott, 2017-2021

A significant new £18.5m front-of-house development comprising c.3400m2 of floorspace for St.Hilda’s College at Oxford University, at the heart of their verdant riverside site. The project comprises a new entrance, offices, student accommodation, events space and re-imagined landscape. 

As Project Architect I led a multidisciplinary design team to steer the scheme from planning through to construction and on to completion (RIBA 3-6 ≈ LPH4 - LPH9), managing the technical design and design quality assurance on site throughout the construction process. 

With a broad client body, the project necessitated a high degree of consultation and collaboration throughout. The project was procured under a Design & Build contract, and successfully delivered on time and budget despite notable cost constraints, and against a challenging backdrop including COVID-19 restrictions on-site.
